Standard bra sizes are just not good enough.

Going bra shopping should be a fun experience but for some it can be a stressful, expensive and overall a disappointing one. As the standard bra sizes that are stocked in most bra stores do not do sizes which fit all. It’s the assumption that women all have the same back size of say a 32 and a humble cup size between A-D, which is most certainly not the case for all women. If you have a bigger bust and anything from a size DD or bigger then you yourself know the struggle to find your size in generic bra stores is almost impossible. The average bra size is a 36D however a lot of shops do not stock anything bigger than this size. Growing up I always had a small back but a bigger cup size which made it almost impossible for me to find my size. Whilst all the other teenage girls where picking up bras from Primark which cost £10 I was stuck buying one bra from Marks and Spencer’s for £25. It’s almost as if we are be punished for having big breasts as we have to pay double the price compared to what women with smaller breasts do. And to top it off, big bras are nearly always ugly and frumpy - the prices for adult shoe sizes certainly don’t vary depending on how large your feet are so why is it this way for women’s bras. Women with big boobs want to look sexy too and deserve to have that option.

We did some research on why big bras are not cheap and why trying to find them is like trying to discover the Atlantis. The answer was that designers simply just do not want to manufacture larger bras. They claim that to make bigger bras costs a lot more and they are a lot more difficult to make. It apparently takes 3 workers to make one large bra. This was rather disappointing, are big breasted women just not worth their time?!

Often for women what they wear underneath their clothes makes them feel sexy and more confident whether they are the only ones who are going to see it or not. It's an important thing and women with an abundance of boobage should be able to find there bra size easy without it being difficult or a hellish experience. Just because you have a small band size this does not necessarily mean you’ll have a small cup size and just because you have a big band size it does not mean you’ll have a big cup size. Theses variations of boobs need to be considered as we are all different.
