expert advice
We interviewed the lovely Persia from Boux Avenue to get the down low on bra do's and don'ts.
Meet Persia, 21 from Southampton who works in Boux Avenue.
According to Persia, we should get our boobs measured every 6months to a year depending on whether we
see a change in our bodies. The way we see it is if you've had a recent change in weight for example then
that's the perfect excuse to go and get yourself measured and revamp your lingerie draw.Persia also told us
that the main importance of getting measured is just so we feel comfortable. So we guess that means no more
squishing our size 32D boobs into 34B's or letting them drown in 36E's just because they're the only sizes
they have left of that gorgeous bra that we've been eyeing up all week - sob.
The tell tale signs that you're wearing the wrong size bra are if it's too tight, if you see a bulge on the near
side of your armpits, there's a gap in the cup when you lean forward (the story of our lives when we were
younger and wore too big bras in attempt to make ourselves look like busty goddesses) or if it just feels out of
place.
Whilst Persia stated that most bra's should be hand washed, she did give us the handy tip to put them into a
bra laundry bags available at Boux Avenue and then wash them in the machine at a delicate speed - we love
anything that gets us out of having to use our energy to tidy or clean. Sleeping with a bra on is also a big no-no according to Persia. Much like you wouldn't sleep with a balaclava on blocking any attempt of fresh air getting to your face, your boobs don't want to be suffocated whilst you sleep - they need time to be free and breathe too.
Lastly, Persia's favourite bra in store at the moment is is the Bianka Mesh Plunge Bra, which is currently in the sale (loving Persia for setting us up with the sale items) so get your hands on it whilst you can!
